I just checked out the Victoria Beckham x Target collection and I am in love. Like, seriously, take my money already! The collection is super refined and sleek, perfect for the modern women. I love the colors; they are all very wearable…a lot of black and white in the collection but also several bright and vibrant pieces for those who love color. I’m a sucker for classics mixed with statement or bolder pieces.
Price Point, On Point
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I love designer collaborations! It’s a great way to add some designer pieces to your collection without breaking the bank. In the past, I’ve been disappointed with the pricing of other chain retailers’ collaborations because a majority of the items were over $70 with some pieces costing hundreds of dollars! WTF?!? I thought brand collaborations were supposed to make pieces that were more affordable. Luckily, that was not the case with this collection!
Victoria Beckham and Target did good with the pricing for this collection, a majority of the pieces are priced around $25-$35.

I fell in love with this embellished beanie as soon as I put it on. To be honest, I had my doubts when I first saw it hanging amongst the other winter hats adorned with it’s giant pearl and gold toned balls but I had never seen anything like it before so I knew I just had to try it on and I am glad I did because I love it! A stylish beanie, who knew?!?
Beanies are a great way to tame your hair and stay stylish on windy days…or days when you just don’t feel like doing your hair.
It was especially windy when I went to the Nashville Parthenon. Do these images look familiar? It’s probably because you’ve seen it before! It is a full-scale replica of the original Parthenon in Athens, Greece.
Beanies aren’t just for the fellas’ anymore; ladies, you can rock them too! Beanies aren’t just for winter either, they are great all year round! There are so many styles of beanies, thick ones, thin one, in addition to countless colors, patterns, decorations, and embellishments; there is a beanie for everyone no matter the season or what your style is or what type of vibe you are trying to achieve with your look.
Not sure where to start on your search for the perfect windy day hair solution? Well, I did all the hard work for you. I recently did a post of my top 7 winter hats (READ HERE) where you can find some cute and stylish beanies for any season or if you simply want to cut to the chase & get your own then click SHOP HATS NOW
Living in San Diego, we miss out on all the fun things that come along with seasonal changes like transitioning to winter clothing. I may not need heavy coats or gloves in San Diego but I can definitely do some hats and beanies for winter! Make sure you pick a style that you feel comfortable in because hats are eyecatching! Be sure to strut your stuff and rock that hat!
I am feeling hats and beanies at the moment and am excited to share my top 7 favorite winter hat styles! I am also looking forward to styling some outfits and looks with some of these hats 🙂
I’ve always seen pictures of Salvation Mountain and just assumed that it was going to be really far from me but it’s actually just a few hours away! About an hour away from Palm Springs & totally driveable! The drive is actually kind of serene and tranquil especially if you are driving on an off day. I love passing through the windmills and the Salton Sea, the views are breathtaking.
I knew that Salvation Mountain would be very bright and colorful so I wanted to wear something contrasting so I would pop a bit more in the pictures. I decided to go with a long dark grey maxi dress with black floral print. I paired the dress with a pair of black moto boots, a black wide rimmed hat, blue/green mirrored sunglasses, and my absolute favorite python embossed handbag. There’s just something about dark maxi’s for fall that remind me of a fall harvest so it seemed appropriate, lol.
Dresses are just so girly, so sometimes I feel the need to balance the girly-ness with contrasting dark edgy pieces; it also adds a bit of mystery and sass to any outfit. How cute is this casual floral dress? I love the layered flared sleeves that sway in the wind and make you feel all dainty! To be honest, I was going to go the traditional route and pair this casual girly floral dress with some cute tan ankle boots for a causal cali boho-y western vibe, but my friend suggested that I pair it with a leather jacket. I was hesitant and sceptical at first because it didn’t look right when I visualized it in my head but when I tried it on and added these black moto boots, I loved it! I mean what says edgy more than moto boots? Am I right? Motorcycle or “Moto” boots for short are just so bad (the good kind of bad) & I love it!
Don’t be afraid to mix it up and experiment by pairing seemingly opposite or mismatched pieces to create your own unique look that helps describe who you are and your unique style.

I was really excited when I first found out about the H&M collaboration with Kenzo late last year. I mean, who doesn’t love big brands at affordable prices? The full collection consists of 95 individual pieces: outerwear, dresses, tops, bottoms (shirts, jeans, pj bottoms), some footwear (fuzzy tiger striped sandals and rubber galoshes), and accessories (hats, gloves, sunglasses, socks, etc).
Honestly, I was hoping that the collection would be a lot more “wearable”. Most of the piece are pretty “out there,” very eccentric…there’s a lot of prints, bold colors, and ruffles. I’m all about animal prints & flare but the combination of tiger print and bright bold colors is just a bit much all at once. Also, I was quite surprise by the price-point on some of these items, many were over $99! Have you been to H&M lately? Almost everything at H&M is under $50, and that’s the nice stuff, so I was really hoping that the pricing would be more on par with H&M’s normal prices but, obviously, with a little bit of a Kenzo premium markup. At these prices, you probably won’t find me lining up outside my local H&M store on November 3rd but I’m certainly not above checking out the clearance racks a few months from now. There are several pieces that I like but I don’t know that I’d go as far to say I love any of the pieces :X Sorry, not sorry!
Anywho, here are my top picks from the collection with prices, enjoy!
I’ve seen amazing pictures of the Salton Sea but have never personally been so I was super stoked when I found out it was conveniently located just a short drive east between San Diego and Palm Springs. Needless to say, I had to make stop at the Salton Sea on my way home from my recent Palm Springs trip. We went on a Monday and it was an absolute ghost town with the exception of the park ranger who drove by periodically; even the visitor’s center was closed. Apparently, August is one of the hottest months to be in the desert with temperatures upward of 110°F, it was 115°F to be exact! If you’re planning a trip to the Salton Sea or desert, definitely make sure you bring a lot of fluids with you especially if you’re going during the hotter months.
As I walked towards the water, I was greeted by piles and piles of dead dried out fish about 10 feet away from the water’s edge. It was kind of a crazy sight to see and just goes to show just how hot it gets in the area.
Overall, I’m really happy to have finally made a trip out to the Salton Sea. The views were incredible and absolutely breathtaking. Along with the emptiness of the Salton Sean was a sense of peacefulness and serenity. The Salton Sea is definitely worth enduring the heat for so check it out if you ever get a chance 🙂
So everyone is going on their summer vacations and I’m over here like, 3 more days of work until the weekend comes. I love vacationing during non-peak seasons/months, it’s not as busy and I don’t have to deal with huge crowds, long wait times, or high hotel rates…what’s there not to love? Oh yeah, the vacation FOMO you get when everyone is traveling and having fun on their summer vacations and you’re stuck at work. If I can’t be on vacation, I can at least reminisce! I have a bunch of vacation pictures that I haven’t posted from a few vacations so I’ve decided that I’m going to do a couple of posts on them 🙂
Here are some shots from my short trip to Nassau during my Bahamas birthday cruise several months ago.
The blue waters and cute lighthouse reminds me of a postcard you’d get from your vacationing friend. When I think of Nassau, this image always comes to mind. If you’re ever in Nassau, you can find this spot by walking past Senior Frog’s towards the beach just beyond all the restaurants and buildings and before the brightly colored stands on the beach.
How often do you see bright crayon-colored buildings when you’re out and about? Not often enough, I bet. I love fun, festive things with lots of character!
You can’t go to a white sand beach and not write in the sand so here’s my obligatory sand drawing, sorry for the cheesiness! I love wearing rompers as opposed to swim cover-ups when I’m out at the beach. Swim cover-ups often have a undergarment-y feel to them; most of the time they aren’t a stand alone piece and are sheer! Rompers are extremely versatile, you can slip it off and hit the beach, then slip it back on and grab lunch or hit up some stores without looking like a tourist in your wet sheer swim cover-up at the souvenir shop.
If you’re feeling stressed out or overwhelmed at work, you should definitely take a vacation. Even if you can’t take the vacation right away, just the act of planning it and having that getaway to look forward to will put you in a slightly more positive mood. Let’s face it, how can be made if you’re going to be going on vacation soon?
The weather in San Diego has been a bit colder than usual so I finally got a chance to wear the long sleeve knit sweater that I had purchased in SoHo over the holidays. I figured the open-stitching wasn’t going to shield me from the wind so I decided to layer up and toss on a large poncho scarf. Poncho scarves are seriously so awesome; they keep you warm, are super cozy, and go with practically everything especially if the print or design isn’t too busy. I leave a black poncho scarf at work as a backup for days when I forget to bring a jacket and it is unusually cold in the office. If you work in an office with multiple thermostats that people are constantly changing, you definitely should have this handy…office/work-life, you know what I’m talking about 😉 Poncho scarves are seriously so clutch!
I haven’t gotten a chance to explore Encinitas much since it’s a bit further north than my usual commute but the few times that I have been there have been very nice. The beach and coast are so picturesque, it seriously looks like something out of a postcard. The town is pretty mellow with a bunch of restaurants and neat shops lined up along Highway 101 which runs through town. Another added bonus is that it’s just a short drive to numerous Carlsbad attractions such as the Carlsbad Premium Outlets, the Flower Fields, Legoland, etc!
I seriously love designer collaborations especially when it enhances the style and designs of brands that I already love! I am feeling the Elise Walker X Supra Collaboration, she effortlessly adds a feminine stylistic flair to Supra’s iconic Skytop high top sneaker. Elise Walker is a renowned Los Angeles stylist and boutique owner and co-founder of FORWARDBYELYSEWALKER.COM. These Skytop Wedge pale blush pink suede high top sneakers are so on target for the neutral color tend that is all over the interwebs right now, you know you’ve all seen those Amrezy instagram shots of her in her all nude or pale blush pink OOTD’s and thought to yourself “damn, it’s so minimal, stylish, and classy!” You too can channel your inner Amrezy with these Skytop Wedge pale blush pink high top sneakers.
I love the snakeskin underlays on these Skytop Wedge high top sneakers, they add just the right amount of flare because let’s face it, these sneakers would probably be kind of boring if the underlays were white or the same matching pale blush pink color. I love statement pieces and snakeskin print always just seems grab my attention, not everyone wears it because it is a bit over-the-top but I think snakeskin print is perfectly fine in small doses…sometimes that’s exactly what you need to to make a casual outfit look ultra clean and chic!
